IgA Nephropathy is a progressive autoimmune disease that results in chronic inflammation of the kidneys and leads to reduced kidney function over time. It is a progressive disease, with up to 50% of IgA nephropathy patients developing end-stage kidney disease within 20 years, requiring dialysis or kidney transplant for survival.
Currently there is no cure for IgA nephropathy and there are currently no approved medications for specifically treating the disease. Clinical trials are taking place evaluating investigational medicine for adults with IgAN and you could qualify if you:
- Are 18-65 years old
- Have been diagnosed with IgAN following a kidney biopsy
- Are currently being treated with an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB) or ACE inhibitor
- Are NOT currently being treated with corticosteroid tablets or immune-suppressing treatments
- Have ongoing proteinuria (high levels of protein in urine)
Qualified participants will receive:
- Study medication and study-related medical care at no cost
- Compensation for travel and other expenses
